Terms and Conditions

1) Detailed here is a large selection of our current stock list but please bear in mind that new vehicles are being added daily. We do our very upmost to ensure that the stock list is constantly up to date but due to the nature of the industry, there may be occasions when the removal of sold vehicles may overlap with lists being updated. Additionally, prices, specifications, colours, number of owners and mileages may differ slightly from actual cars in stock. Please ensure you clarify these details on inspection of each vehicle.

2) Vehicles viewed on our website :-

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colours, specifications, owners, mileage, and any other such descriptions, errors may occur so please confirm these details on inspection of each vehicle. If in any doubt please request such details to be stated in writing and we will be please to do this.

3) Vehicles of ours viewed on other websites :-

Many websites these days use "Pre Filled" item information, this information is from various data bases supplied to them by third parties (not us), a description is usually gained by initialy supplying a registration, which in turns supplies generic data in relation to such things as specification. Because this data is by its nature "Generic", differences can occur between a description and the actual vehicle on offer. For example an "SE" specification for a vehicle may in most cases have "a cruise control" fitted, some "SE" specification cars may not have this fitted. Because of this errors may occur so please confirm these details on inspection of each vehicle. If in any doubt please request such details to be stated in writing and we will be please to do this.

4) Pre sale information including vehicle files :-

As mentioned above, to ensure customers get exactly what they expect we create a " Vehicle File " for any vehicle offered for sale, they are available freely for inspection by customers, so items like HPi confirmation, V5 registration document details (ie number of owners), MOT history, and mileage history, proof of mileage investigation, etc can be inspected to assist an informed decision prior purchase.

Vehicle files will include the following:-
Copy of the V5 registration (if the car has been UK registered) document showing previous and previous previous keepers, this will afford any customer the opportunity to take details and research the potential purchase, in particular they can see vehicle data which will include such things as engine size, taxation band, previous keepers details (should a customer wish to contact them which they will be welcome to do so), and see important data such as the number of owners, and date of manufacture and registration.

Details of Hpi and or Experian checks carried out

Copies of VOSA mot history, showing previous MOT history including MOT test station details, and mileage information

Copies of letter(s) to and from previous keeper(s) of vehicles checking history

We strongly advise customers to take advantage of this vehicle file facility.

5) Standard Vehicle deposits :-

Our standard deposit varies dependant on the agreed sale price of the vehicle.

Deposits - For vehicles under £5000, this is £500, for vehicles over £5000 it is 20% of the agreed sale price.
Unless otherwise specified in writing prior placing a deposit, the deposit you are placing is not to “hold a vehicle” as this is not something we do, but as part payment of the vehicle in question. Here at Specialist Cars we have a company policy that should you not proceed with this purchase we will not keep this deposit, but in some cases an amount equal to the costs which we have incurred will be forfeited from it, in this case this said amount will be quantified and you will be informed of this amount in writing, at the same time the balance of the deposit you have paid will be returned.

It is our company policy to do this within 14 days from the date we are notified you no longer wish to proceed with the purchase of the vehicle.

Please note in the case of a card transaction, please allow up to 5 working days for this to process through our card merchant service providers, card deposit refunds do not show immediately after a refund has been done.

Deposits for imported vehicles are different to the above.

For vehicles we have bought for stock from oversea`s countries that are been imported and still in transit, or UK vehicles again in transit, which in both cases have not been viewed, our standard deposit 25% of the confirmed sale price.
(*** IMPORTANT *** in the case of imported vehicles bought for stock and in transit that have not been specifically ordered, re-registered and/or modified at the request of a customer on arrival to the UK, any deposit is fully refundable if on viewing the vehicle you decide not to proceed with the purchase)

Again it is our company policy to do this within 14 days from the date we are notified you no longer wish to proceed with the purchase of the vehicle.

Please note in the case of a card transaction, please allow up to 5 working days for this to process through our card merchant service providers, card deposit refunds do not show immediately after a refund has been done.
